Daveco here from just west of the Land Between the Lakes area of Western Ky. I'm not much of a hunter or shooter anymore, but used to enjoy deer hunting- as a kid and then in the later years with recurves and I always enjoyed hunting with the various muzzleloaders that I've owned or borrowed. Since the last 2 or 3 years I'm not able to get out and do that sort of thing anymore though.

Here in the last few months, I've been bitten by the "Build a Longrifle" bug and have spent a lot of time reading and also scouring the internet about the rifle building process. So now I've got a pile of iron parts with a 13/16" by 42" Rice .40 caliber barrel and a partly pre-carved stock in the Southern Mountain style, a double set trigger kit, and since I've got a lot of time I also chose a small Siler Flilntlock kit. I have access to a fairly well-stocked shop with a mill, a good-sized lathe, an anvil and forge, and a good assortment of hand tools. There's also a pretty good selection of wood-carving tools. I'm not able to just fly into the build, and really expect it to take a LOOONG time to get it to the finished state, but hopefully that will mean fewer mistakes!

Anyways, enough of my rambling

Looking forward to getting to know y'all!!
Daveco.
