Greyden Finds His First Shed

Postby KsBow » Wed Feb 20, 2013 3:28 pm

Grandson Greyden loves going to the woods. Likes walking and crawling through the timber looking for deer, turkeys, and sheds. Last Sunday it was very nice out and he managed to find his very first shed, on his own. His PaPa only found one, but Greyden found the first one.

Good looking boy you've got there. Somehow I never found one I wanted that seemed to want me so I'm an old bachelor dude. So, I never got to have any kids. I used to see my peers interacting with their kids and would think "I'm probably missing out on something there". Now I watch my peers with their grandkids and I KNOW I'm missing out on something. The closest I get is when I borrow some of my great nieces or nephews for a few hours here and there. Anyway, I just wanted to remind you how blessed you are to have that little guy.

Zeek, we are indeed blessed. Our only child, Krystyn, was a pedestrian victim of a hit an run driver when Greyden was 3 months old. She was life watched to KU Med in Kansas City, spent 25 days in surgical ICU, then another 21 days in PT,OT and various other things. She made it through, which they didn't expect. She's now back in school and doing great. But she cannot make it financially going full time to KU and working part time. Greyden would be in day care and sitters. Since this is the only home he's ever known, it doesn't make sense for him to be anywhere else. We go up at least once a month, but he talks to Mom very often. He's a Special little guy, with more "Uncles" who build bows and bowhunt than any other kid I know.
If you ask anyone at OJam, Greyden belongs to everybody. He brightens everybody's life, not just NaNa and PaPa's. :applaud:

Zeek, I know how you feel. I haven't found one yet that didn't want me to change my ways ( I'm outdoors all the way and always working on something ) and the others are taken.
Ralph is right, Greyden has more uncles and aunts than about any other boy or girl out there, and all of them are proud to be called his uncle or aunt.
Ralph, I'd let Greyden gather the fork horns on my place but he'd have to raingle the little buck to the ground first ( he hasn't lost th yet) .
I do let all my friends bring their kids to my pond to fish , and I bait their hooks and take the fish off for them ( don't quite understand why the parents don't have the patients to help them, all they want to do is fish also ) love the excitement when the little ones catch a big catfish , bluegill or bass ( just don't like it when the parents get mad cause their kids won't hold the fish up , I always stand behind them and hold the fish to make it look like the kid is holding it) .
Hope you don't get too snowed in Ralph , looks like you may have the white stuff around for a while.
Here stay warm..... :campfire: :campfire:

Pluse we're supposed to have 50 to 60 mph winds. Can you saw White Out Blizzard North Pole BS. Oh well we still need moisture. :applaud:

We need moisture down here too , any way we can get it . Got to my new osage spot today and started on a big tree the owner wants to get away from the fence , got the lower " limbs " ( about 12 to 14 inches across ) out of the road for now . I'll have to go back and finish it up but it will take a few days , it's a monster, all I got off the tree today was billits . Did go cut an eight incher , when I stood up after killing the stump I walked right into a small limb on the tree next to it , looks like I've been in a fight with a bobcat  .
I hope this weather gets all this snow out of it's system before OJAM . Don't think my bosses will let me bring a snowplow up , kind of tierd of pushing slush around .
Stay safe Ralph , and we'll see you at OJAM in a few weeks . :campfire:

Atta boy, Greyden!  Great job little buddy! Keep smiling. :D

Ralph, he'll never forget the day he found his first shed with Pa. It doesn't get any better than being Pa to a great guy like Greyden.

See y'all next week. Leave the cold weather up there when you come.
