Killed Buck With Patched Round Ball

Postby Falcon » Sat Dec 08, 2018 5:29 pm

This buck was killed during Fort Sill muzzleloader season in October. The rifle is a TC New Englander ,50 caliber. The patched round ball was driven by 80 grains of Black MZ powder. Distance was 35-40 yards. The deer bang flopped.

Fort Sill, hey? My youngest is just finishing up AIT there, heading over to Kansas. Fort Riley, maybe? He told me but it didn't stick. I hope he texts me an address when he gets there! :rolf:

Congratulations on the buck! That should give some prime eating for a while. :applaud:

The patched round ball is way more effective at reasonable ranges than most people would think it is. Congrats on filling your tag.
