This Just In- Blind Pig Finds Acorn

Postby KsBow » Fri Dec 13, 2013 12:52 pm

It's been a long and frustrating season with fewer deer seen than in decades. This morning I decided to don orange and head to the woods. Nothing till 9:00 when this young doe came strolling by in the food plot. She was at about 13 or 14 yards and I was shooting "Shorty" a little 51" nock to nock Osage bow with flipped tips covered with horn. Arrow was a cedar with a big Zwickey. Pass through and after I watched her go around the corner, I got out and looked at the arrow, lots of blood from one end to the other. Went and got my little truck and came back to take up the trail. Found her about 25 yards from the last spot I saw her. Couldn't get the timer working on my camera, but I did get a pic on her, Shorty and a Quiver.

Congratulations my friend, sometimes things worth having require a little bit of patience to achieve.

Mark, she went about 50 yards total. About thirty to get out of my sight, then another 20 or so. Made for a nice recovery, cause I could get the truck to within the 20 or so. I've got her hanging, supposed to be in the 20's or teens tonight and a high of 30 ish tomorrow. Good hanging weather. I'll probably work her Sunday afternoon, cause it's supposed to warm up by Monday to 50 anyway. That's warm here, might be considered Brutal in your part of the world. :archer2:

Fantastic! What stand did you shoot from? I would would wager you were getting some pretty tuff pressure from the home to get some meat in the freezer.
Glad you got one- now you can concentrate on some horns.
Hope it's not long before another trip up there.
