Handle wrapping with one inch leather ?

Post by stickandlimb » Sat Nov 21, 2015 2:44 pm

Some body put on a demo at Ojam using a one inch wide strip of leather . He tapered the leading end at an angle and sanded down the edge the full length of the leather I didn't get there in time or forgot what he said..........how do you start it and end it.....and do you apply anything to the handle before you start to wrap it like glue ...ect ? A picture would help .
Its all mind over matter..If you don't mind it don't matter.......

JD Jones was the fella that did that demo. I don't remember the dimensions, if any, that he used. I wouldn't be any use trying to explain how to do it. If we lived closer I could show you how though. I used that technique on the first BBO I made.

I'll bring some 1" latigo strips to the banquet in case anyone is interested is buying a few. I'll have black and brown strip's cut out. JD will probably be there to explain how he does the handle wrap but in case he can't make it I'll get a strip ready so I can explain the process.
