My wife needs your prayers

Post by mooseman1967 » Sat May 15, 2010 10:56 pm

Hey guys, If you could send some prayers our way I would really appreciate it. 2 1/2 weeks ago my wife became ill with the flu and just could not shake it. Things got so bad that she was hospitalized to figure out why. They put the blood doctors on it and ended up doing a bone marrow biopsy on Tuesday. Thursday the offical results came in and we could not believe it when he told us it was leukemia. On the positive side it is the kind you have a chance of beating. They let me bring her home for the weekend to let her body recover a little bit from the flu before they start the cemo on Monday. She is only 49 and has already had a hip replacement "bad from birth" back surgery, and rotator cuff surgery. She is a strong woman and I know with our thoughts and prayers she will find a way to make it thru this one too.
Thank you, Dave

Dave,

You have our prayers and best wishes...we will pray for wisdom and strength for you both. If there is anything you need let us know!
Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Hey everyone, looks like the side effects from the chemo are finally starting to slow down. She is doing much better and not getting a fever near as often. Thru all of this she has found a way to take at least one walk every day, she swears there is no way she will be bed ridden. The docs keep saying to think of this as a marathon and yet we fell like we just got over the first hurdle.
Once again thank you all for your prayers, Dave

Bonnie is doing pretty good right now, seems to be getting stronger every day and no fever for a while now. She has been home for a few days now but has to go back on the 28th and start more chemo which she is really dreading. She will do that for a week and then be home for 2 weeks then another week of treatment then home for 3 weeks and so on and so forth till who knows when. I pray that each chemo gets easier for her that right now is the hardest part to watch. Thank God she is strong and has so many pulling for her. Thanks for all your prayers, Dave
