Great compare - been carrying the MSR rocket for awhile now its a great ultra light weight stove! and you cant beat the price!!!

I also fall back sometimes carry my old school Seva 123 stoves depending on the needs (like a big group) and duration of my adventure - but for an ultra light weight white gas stove I like my MSR firefly (earlier version of the MSR WhisperLite) :applaud: the pressurized gascanister stoves are still faster to a boil though...

Does the MSR have full flame conaintment? So the flame can't be seen from the out side?
You mentioned a wind screen was that for the Reator of both?

Any thing that blows wind by design with out the aid of a wind screen IMHO is better, wind is always a Issue in Alaska as well as rian.

Good compairson !

Greywolf, MSR makes a wind screen for their stoves - It's $12 - $15 and its light weight and effective....
But - it does not out last their stoves!
Wind is an issue in the wilds with every type stove, especially above treeline.... But I've always been able to find a nice niche or a couple flat rocks or some other way to shield the stove from the wind.... So far its not been that big of an issue....
