economic savings on fish hooks

Post by robert n leeper » Wed Dec 29, 2010 2:19 pm

i found an interesting way to make my own fish hooks out of window roller wire. Using the spring wire
from a window shade, i can cut a piece of the spring, heat one end up and pound it out on the anvil to flatten one end slightly and add a barb to it and sharpen it with a diamond file and i end up with a nice fish hook that is strong and quite durable . one spring can make about 30 hooks of varying sizes and fit well in my tin box in my backpack ... see what one can come up with. next ill forge a sewing needle out of a piece
of the same type wire :archer:
Joseph had a coat of many colors, mine are green brown tan and gray
