Sinew Wrapped Fletching

Post by Bounty Hunter » Tue Nov 23, 2010 10:53 am

Here is how I sinew wrap feather fletching. I know I'm giving away my secrets, but I love helping the do-it-yourself guys and gals. Enjoy and I hope it helps.

This was the perfect post at the perfect time. I have been researching and drawling different designs for my arrows, pictured in my avatar. This is a beautiful look that fits my personality. Thanks

is there any other type of material that you have ever used to wrap? I would love to do it and i think the serving string i have is too thick or maybe i just need more practice but it gives it an amazing touch. your an arrow genius thats for sure!

The sinew I use is really artifical and I've used it in a couple different colors. If I were going to use some other material I'd likely get some Spider Wire fishing line in 15-20 pound test. It is very thin and strong.

The reason I like using the artifical sinew is the wax coating helps bond and hold the wraps good and tight.

Excellent video. I have done this with real sinew but just wraped the ends and below the nock, not in the feather, and then put hide glue on it to secure it.
