Mini shot bags

Postby Linc » Thu Jan 05, 2012 3:25 pm

Here are a couple of mini shot bags that I just finished working on. The smaller of the two holds 6 charges of 1 1/8th ounces plus a little extra for spillage. The larger holds 10 of the same charges plus extra. The copper plug is also an 80gr measure for powder or shot.

WOW those look good Lenk . well done.
here is alittle trick on your silver soldering .
before you solder , engrave a patern around the joint that your going to solder .
then ad you flux , working it into the engraving .
fit your parts and carfuly clean the flux off the surface of the pattern .
the solder will now flow into that patern as well as the joint .
once cool , clean off any ofver flow of solder just down to the serface of the base metal .
remeber solder doesnt in most cases flow into the base metal . it binds to the metal and fills
so if you go slow and use a light hand , you can end up with some very nice joint paterns resulting from the flow of the solder .

Captchee,
Would you mind showing us an example, or giving us a link to an example?

Those look great, by the way.
