Someone with talent ?

Postby stiknstringbow » Sat Feb 15, 2014 10:44 pm

In my collection of unfinished knives and stuff I inherited from my father I have a tomahawk that he had started.
I am wondering if there was someone on here willing to finish it for me ?

His Idea was to make a pipe/hawk.
I just don't have the tools or skills to finish this myself, curious if I could work a deal with someone...

That hawk looks pretty nice as is !

If you have a hand drill I can send you a link to extra long drill bits that will allow you to bore a hole through the Handle and I can give you a few tips on getting it drilled through straight.......

The hard part with a pipe hawk is keeping the hawk head in place to keep the seal between the handle and the head. It has to fit perfectly......

There already is a small hole the full length of handle, a little too small though.
The bowl part of the head is not drilled through.
Also, been sitting in a box of stuff in the garage, I found this in some misc. stuff, so the head needs polishing, little rust pits (although I thought it was stainless, 15 years of neglect has an effect).
pretty tight fit as is, has to go on only one way and slide on to tighten...
But, if no interest from a talented maker, I will probably play around with it...

Stiknstringbow,
Perhaps I can help you long distance - save the freight bill - seems to me that your task is more "labor of love" than need for equipment - so if you want - PM me and I'll see what we can do.......
