Wow that one took a wallop! Normally UPS takes great care of the stuff they ship for me, but I guess there is an exception to everything?

Hey that "A" mag handle you picked up recently, did it look in pretty fair shape? Congrats! Hoof

Luckily it looks like it was double packaged which kept it from harm.

I recently brokered the purchase of a 1959 Ben Pearson signature take down. The box was never taped shut along its longest edge and you could see the bow case clearly without opening it further!

Got to wonder what some folks are using for a brain sometimes don't ya!

I will not ever ship a bow by UPS unless its in a bomb proof container like a heavy PVC pipe. I have had two bows damaged that were shipped too me. I always use USPS priority mail and they have never let me down, Its all in using the proper boxes and taking precautions with proper packing.

I received a bow that was packaged by UPS the exact same way. A box with a bow and some peanuts rattling around. What a joke. My bow was fine also but it's a miracle.

That's why I stopped using UPS. One of the first rods I ever sold was shipped as a 2-piece and arrived as a 3-piece. It was in an aluminum rod tube padded inside a carpet tube and they ran a forklift or something similar over it. You could see the tire tracks and the aluminum tube was partially crushed. Now I make sure there's enough money in the S&H to cover the cost of a sched. 40 PVC pipe and give a 10$ refund if the pipe is returned. USPS Priority Insured is the ONLY way I'll ship a rod or bow nowadays.
