Second Week of 2015

Post by KsBow » Sat Jan 17, 2015 11:54 am

Here's some pics from a little camera I got for Christmas. WildGame Inovations. Couldn't figure it out for a while, but finally got it working. These pics are from my Brickhouse area. One decent lil 8 that might be a ten next year. A little shed buck and some toms that are stepping on their beards. Love it when they trip themselves. I have a better shot at hitting them when they're flopping around on the ground. :rolf:

Just now seen this post.........nice buck and turkeys.....does Kansas turkey's taste better than Oklahoma ones ? I haven't seen a turkey where I hunt in 6 years......don't know what happened to them . I think the fire ants are killing the young ones ..........

They're pretty good eating up here. Body weight is good. Most shot on my place will weigh better than 23 #. Biggest one was a smidge under 25#. Notice the beard of the one going under the feeder from left to right. Double beards, both nice ones. :applaud:

They taste better if you shoot them with a selfbow. :D They are really good breasted out, sliced about 1/2", battered and fried. Dip in a sauce made of Dejon mustard and home made plum jelly. :applaud:

I have shot three turkey's with a bow and not took any home.......hard to follow a blood trail in the air....lol. I had one hen that jumped up when I shot and I cut her leg off . I seen her for the next 2 years hopping on one leg while she eat . She could get air borne with out a run at it . Every time I see that someone has taken a turkey with a bow ( let alone a selfbow ) It makes me happy to think one day I will be one of them too. I have run out of places to hunt them . Hope they make a come back in my area . :77:
