Pulled a chip this morning to see what's been visiting the Brickhouse. Kinda interesting pics. The little buck looks thin, and you can see the summer coat coming. They'll be dropping all the long hair in the next few weeks and everything will look red. The young tom is putting on a show for the girls. Finally, the coon says, I was here first, go away big birds.

Cause I've been hunting somewhere else. That's why I pulled the chip. I wanted to see if anything had been coming by this place. Nothing in the morning, but fairly regularly in the evenings. I went out there this afternoon and saw only three hens total. Oh well. Sooner or Later.

Too bad feeders aren't legal here - I'd love to be able to "see" whats happening like that - any feeding is prohibited so we have a slight disadvantage unless you can cultivate a feed plot..Nice pic's!.

Same here in Washington, absoloutly no hunting any game birds over any kind of bait. That means feeders, and even freshly harvested farm fields, and around grain slos/elevators.

But we can hunt deer with bait if we so schoose to, alsways kind thought about setting one up on some property just for the cool trailcam pics ;)
I would rather put up a food plot though personally, then I would feel like I was giving as much back as I was taking from nature.
The only thing that has stopped me is not having the land to do it, a food plot in the middle of the city    Just would'nt work :rolf:

I have food plots. Normally I plant wheat and rye. Stays green all winter and provides food throughout the season. I add milo to the corn in the feeders when we get snow and ice. Songbirds, quail and pheasants appreciate not having to dig through the ice to find a morsel. Of course raccoons and squirrels always appreciate having a snack handy.
