Late for Up Here

Post by KsBow » Mon Mar 31, 2014 3:55 pm

Greyden and I went shed hunting yesterday. Didn't find any but had a great time. Pumped the water tanks full. Filled a feeder. Found a dead possum in the old tank. Found out why there's so much turkey poop under some trees. Discovered why you have to be careful around locust sprouts. Had to take a break now and then. Removed a chip from a camera and discovered several interesting things. Mainly one still packing both sides, really late for around here.

Nice group of birds, Ralph. Here's hoping that predicts a great turkey season for you. Apparently that buck doesn't know he's going to need a bigger set than that this fall and needs to get on with growing them. I really like that picture of Greyden. I sure wish I'd have felt better so I could've enjoyed him more at OJAM. At least I saw him briefly. I'm looking forward to the rendezvous, more than usual.

It was certainly nice to see you there Gary. I have confidence that you'll progress right along and be doing great by Rendezvous. It's gonna have to get warm for a few days to get the toms fired up. Never got out of the 40s up here today. Got some hail and showers earlier this evening and then another round of bigger hail and some rain. I fooled em and put my onions in this afternoon while Greden was at school. The little rain we had will pop em up pretty fast.

last year I had a video off of my camera with 2 bucks still toting their racks on 3/16. state biologist took me that was a sign of low stress/good nutrition situation for that herd.

Kansas version of an Oklahoma spike I'm guessing because my little spikes still have their antlers .

Yeah, he's a little one but normally they'd be gone by now. Not sure about Kansas spikes Billy, but I do have a picture of a forkie side that Mikee found while he was up turkey hunting a few years back.
