3 dollar knife sheaths

Postby Lance Coleman » Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:49 am

Wound up down around the hobby lobby a week or so back a browsin. I stumbled up on this little pack of " tandy leather scraps" hmm.... had decent thickness, nice and stiff....... looks like the pieces in there may be big enough for a sheath. The pack cost 2.99. So I got it.

Wound up with enough scraps in it to get two sheaths out of it. Just used FF bowstring material to stitch it together and melted a mixture of bear tallow and beez wax down and rubbed it in to them.

I figured if they came out crappy I was only out 3 bucks ;)

I've looked at the packs but never bought any. The sheaths look good. I've thought about picking up the bigger packs too. A lot of good stuff in there if you don't mind brousing. I've picked up brass sheets in the area with the pinewood derby cars before too. By the way, what brand is the skinner? I have a few old buffalo skinners made by I.O. Wilson.
