New Little Selfbow

Postby KsBow » Sun Jun 15, 2014 9:31 am

Been doing more fishing that building lately. However, in my spare time, I did build a little osage selfbow this week. It's 57 inches long nock to nock, has cowhorn tip overlays, stained ebony, and pulls 52# at 27 inches. It's from a belly split off a stave I bought at OJam for a friend. There two more in the outer section of the stave.
Anyway here it is again. I buried the pics on another thread about OSS Rendezvous, so I thought I'd put it were it belongs. The cactus in the photos is "Dirty Harry". He stands about 6 feet and will poke you if you get close.

NICE! :D Need some blood on it now.
HAPPY FATHER's DAY

You are right about "Dirty Harry". Helped move him a couple of times- I swore he reached out and poked me for being ruff when moving him from the porch to the house or vise versa-can't remember. Need to hire a piano mover to do that now-HEAVY!

Glad you are getting into the fish- some of the guys around here are catching them on the Washita near Chickasha, OK.

Can't wait until next weekend.

Yeah Mikee, I've lost three to lines breaking, trying to keep em out of the brush. Took care of that yesterday with some 30# line on one of the rigs.
As for blood on it, all I'd have to do is go out and shoot it right now. We have some Red Cross mosquitos, they don't quit till they've sucked a pint out of you. I hate it when you find one that is so full of blood that he can't fly. You be saying, "Wish I know where he filled up at!"
See you next weekend my Friend. :archer2:

John, there's a pic of four of them I caught one morning. A Blue, and the rest were channels. There's two that were a bit over 4 lbs.
