Building another one

Post by pete » Thu Oct 29, 2009 10:22 pm

I have been addicted to building things my entire life. Archery has been a passion of mine my entire life. The two hobbies collided a few years ago and now i like to kid myself in to thinking i am a bowyer!

I started gluing up a riser tonight and took some pics and figured I would share them with you here. I am not going to get involved in detailed descriptions of what I am doing. I am going to let the pics do the talking. Feel free to ask any questions. The woods for the riser are Ash, Cocobolo and an accent strip of Black Walnut.

Thanks for the welcome. And like they said, don't let me fool you. I still have a lot to learn! I may have gotten lucky in the past. You just never know.

So anyway here are some more pics of progress made this afternoon. Tonight Will be a series of glue ups in the hot box. One will be the riser and I am also gluing up some fills on a longbow and a recurve. WIll it all fit in is the big question.

Just so everyone knows Pete is my brother. That being said he makes one heck of a bow.
What you are seeing here is the riser for my new longbow.
Here are a couple photos of the recurve design he builds.
