First Flintlock kit

Postby cachelapoudre » Fri Jan 16, 2015 10:54 am

I picked up this CVA Kentucky Pistol kit last year and forgot about it until the New Year. Decided it was time to put it together.

The most time consuming task was getting the lock to fit flush against the barrel and vent hole.

The nose piece also need considerable wood trimming to get it flush with the stock. Overall it looks fine and I plan on shooting it next week.

Nothing special other than browning the barrel with several coat of solution to get a nice dark brown coat on the barrel.

Need to finish trimming and staining the ram rod and it's good to go.
