First BP Pistol Build - RANGE REPORT

Made it to the range on Thursday. The first problem was off and on FTF caps. I started with #11, then #10 and finally some Italian caps which have no number. At first I thought the problem might be the lock was still tight since it was new. I finally decided to change the nipple. That took care of the FTF problem. Consistent firings.

I loaded 20 grains of 3F Pyrodex, .440 ball and .010 patch. As you will see on the video it's the little things that one needs to pay attention to.

Long story short it is a an easy pistol to hold and shoot. The targets were 10 yards away. I was quite surprise to be inside the ring with each shot after I discovered what I was doing wrong.

I may try making a Kentucky or Pirate pistol next. Might even consider the Bounty model since I have a New Army Bufflao revolver.
