I have fond memories of being on Suemez Island in SE Alaska (West of Prince of Wales Island) laying out logging roads. On the way back to camp we had to cross a huge muskeg. In the middle was a scraggly little tree, about 4" in diameter. As we walked by it, there was a little buck standing behind it. He must have thought he was well hidden, peeking around the edge of his tree. I could have whacked him with my Swede axe!
