Mollegabet Bow in progress

Postby docmann » Thu Mar 31, 2016 11:32 pm

After OJAM XII I felt it was time to push the envelope a little with respect to bow design. I've always been intrigued by the Holmegaard and Molle bows, and the more I read about these ancients, the more I'm drawn to giving one a shot.
Just finished the rough cut-out of this 67" piece. Something tells me that if I want it tillered correctly between now and June I'm going to need some input from my more learned colleagues. As I understand, the trick is to make the inner limbs carry the load and keep the outer limbs stiff so as to end up with a smaller string angle. Should be interesting.
Any comments or directives welcome.

Looking good so far Mark. The one I have that Billy made is a good shoot bow that hits where you're lookin. Can't ask for more than that. :applaud:
