I've not heard of these bows before. The price is certainly reasonable. I picked up a vintage Wing Archery Red Wing Hunter recurve for about $80 including shipping. It is a genuine Wing, no Head Ski and no AMF. It is a 58" bow pulling 49# @ 28". It is amazingly smooth when drawn and it has really good cast. It was missing its string so I borrowed a string from a 58" Ben Pearson that I have. I have ordered a string for the Red Wing Hunter. I keep telling myself that I am going to learn to make strings but never have. I even bought a couple of spools of B-50. Maybe someday I'll take the plunge.

You know, it ain't real without we see some photos! A new Black Hunter bow? I'll have to do a search for that; never heard of one before, although that's no surprise!

Okay, a search brought this up: http://www.twigarchery.com/big-rock-bla ... r-longbow/ Is that the bow you have? Looks good and has good reviews...

Yeah, once the others discovered Facebook, they were gone within a month. There are some of us who are hanging on but I think even we are fading out of the picture.

Here is the link on how to post pictures. I think it's about the same procedure as most other sites have.

I may have to get one of those Black Hunter bows. I assume that at the price they come from overseas, like so much which is reasonable anymore.

I got my new string for my Red Wing Hunter and have it strung up to stretch. I put the string on Friday night and set the brace height at 8" I just checked it this morning (Sunday) and the string has stretched until the brace height is now at 7 1/2". I will shorten the string a bit more and let it stretch a few more days before I set it up with the nocking point. I bought a 54" string but I'm wishing I'd ordered a 53 1/2 It took 40 full twists to get the brace height to 8" the other night. The more you twist the thicker the string gets. String mass equals noise and hand shock. Anyway that's my report for today.

A mate has one, reckons it's pretty good all things considered. He does say it stacks a little at his draw length though.
