Afternoon Squirrel Hunt

Postby david32cal » Sat Jan 03, 2009 6:57 pm

got up early this morning to fog and drizzle but by noon everything had cleared out and the tempature was in the low 60's with a SW breeze, just dang near perfect. i could'nt take it, i had to go chase some squirrels. no sooner got in the woods than one ran up a hickory nut tree about 20 yards away and stopped on the first limb he came to,got him right in the ol' noggin.the next two i caught on the ground diggin' for nuts, hit both of them a little far back in the neck but not enough to tear up anything.the last one was an old fat fox squirrel i got to answer a distress whistle, tried to make a head shot on him with him faceing straight at me and ended up hitting him in the side but he'll clean up ok.a great afternoon to a day that started out kinda miserable.

nice shooting, LOVE the camo. Seems like a good way to make ANY animal stop and look at you long enough to take a shoot.

Very Nice! How do you prepare them for the meal?
