Howdy, from Texas

Postby Raven1962 » Mon Feb 20, 2017 11:48 pm

Been hunting BP for a long time, sent here looking for a wood-butcher to cut me a custom stock, now my back is bad enough I haven't been able to support the .50 cal for good hunting.

1st bp was a replica .32 cal 1862 Navy revolver (got it around 1980)
1st BP rifle was a .50cal CVA Hawken (got it around 1988)
Current:
replica .32 cal smooth-bore derringer (my snake gun)
replica .32 cal 1862 Colt Sheriff w/cartridge conversion
CVA .50 cal Mountain Rifle w/32" bbl.

Anywho, fella on FB sent me here...

Welcome to TradRag. Lot's of good information here and reading material.
There are a lot of smoke pole shooters down in your area. I used to shoot around Austin, Brady, Electra and Longview. The Red River Renegades had a great club around Electra/Iowa Park and we would go to Brady and shoot every year.

I got all excited when I saw Cedar Creek, checked my address book and my old Navy buddy lives in Cedar Park. Close but no prize! Glad to have you here. Lots of good info and good people to help you.

   I guess there must be tons of cedar trees down there in Texas, or someone planted towns there who liked the trees! Cedar Creek, Cedar Park, now Cedar Valley.... Not much help. I'm in regular contact with my old shipmate so I'm not trying to find him either, thank you very much.
