New Stillwater Member?

Postby Pap » Tue Mar 17, 2015 7:04 pm

Hey Guys! I'm new to building, but have been reading about this for about 10-12 years with the first Bowyers Bible. I have a few staves that are in process. We'll soon see how much humble pie I can enjoy.

I will be at OJAM. I sent in my membership application about a month ago and haven't heard anything. I looked up Terry's handle to PM him to see if he got the application, but haven't heard anything yet. I guess I just show up at OJAM? Do you think it will be on record there?

Best regards,

Jess, by all means show up. Terry has not been taking care of dues for a while. Leo Staples is in charge of dues now since last year. They should have them. I'm sure it will get straightened out.
There will be a lot of us there tomorrow setting up the archery range and making sure everything is a go.
Hope to see you this weekend.

Thanks, Mike & Donnie! I have been conversing with Sidewinder, a PA Forum member from South Kansas. I have a couple of staves barely started and can't wait to see OJAM.

Hey Leslie! You can't imagine how much I appreciated all your help. My son is after me to get a scale on that bow. He doesn't know how much I have to clean up my workshop before I can even put the tillering tree against the wall. He lives in Wyoming and is an Elk Hunter, thus he wanted me to make the weight near 60#. I told him last night that most of the bow hunting tribes I have read about had smaller game bows and large game/war bows. I told him he needed one in the low 50's to get his hand/eye coordination working well. Heck, if you see an Elk to shoot, you'll have no trouble pulling an 80# bow when that time comes. I have 5 more staves to make bows from presently. I'm going to be busy for quite awhile. Damn, I look like a Sumo wrestler.
