Visual attractant for trapping

Postby docmann » Sun Jan 24, 2016 2:46 pm

Been reading a great deal about some type of visual attractant for trapping cats. One video shows a lot of success with tinsel (silver) typically used to decorate Christmas trees. Others suggest feathers, jar lids, old CD/DVD discs. Anybody with experience using any of these?
I'm new at this, and have one bobcat after running my traps for one week. She was caught on a plain dirt hole set without any type of visual attractant.

I have caught 4 this season and all were caught in basic dirt hole sets. All were caught right on an edge that had very thick cover. I would say though that anything that will move in the slightest breeze would be enough to draw the attention of a bobcat.
