The honey is flowing .
I'm down to six hives this year , but the rain has everything flowering good right now and the bees are working hard . I pulled two supers off today and the honey is clear ( I have a lot of clover after getting rid of the horses ) still have two more on the hives I was in today but they are not capped yet,and still have two more hives to check.

I have an electric uncapper but it only works on even comb , mostly use a long kitchen knife or uncapping fork. The bees don't always draw the comb out even , so with the knife and fork you can follow the shape of the comb and leave more of it on the frame so the bees don't have to spend a lot of time building new comb ( they can get right to work making more honey ). If I get everything done before this weekend I plan to take a couple of pints to the OSS campout for the clout shoot or raffle for the club.

Cool Billy! You are a man of many talents. See you this weekend.

Re: The honey is flowing .
Please bring some honey, I would like to buy some if you have extra, at least a couple of #'s. I bet it would make great barter material also.

Re: The honey is flowing .
I'll bring some quarts and pints with me , may even bring a couple of frames with me and my extracter with me to show how it's done. Hard to take pictures and work at the same time.
Re: The honey is flowing .
I'm going to need a couple quarts again, Billy.

Re: The honey is flowing .
I've set my prices a little lower this year , $3 a half pint , $6 a pint, and $12 a quart . I'll try to keep the prices at this as long as the honey is on , my usual customers are wanting more this year because I ran out early last year . If it keeps up supply will have a hard time keeping up with demand ( honey only flows so fast when its cool ) .
Re: The honey is flowing .
wow awesome! ive been wanting to get into beekeeping when i get a place, i wouldnt mind makin some of that into mead!
Re: The honey is flowing .
I got my first flat of pints jarred and sold before I could look up.
I may not have any frames of honey to bring out , everyone I usually sell to are buying more this year than they normally do so I need to jar everything I have to keep up with the demand. I'll still bring some to the campout , just won't be able to demonstrate the extraction prosses .

Re: The honey is flowing .
Billy,
My wife is about 1/2 way though that bottle I bought from you and was wondering how she can get her hands on a gallon or 2 before it is all gone. The first time she tried it, and she uses it for a sugar substitute on everything, she said wow! this is how honey is supposed to taste like!
If you have it I'd like to meet up with you soon and take it off your hands.
Thanks,
K.C.

Re: The honey is flowing .
I'm still pulling honey , I've got more to pull before I extract it . Does she want it in quart jars or something else . You can email me at brm824@gmail.com . The bees are still putting it away but with the humidity it takes longer to cap , still be pulling fore couple mote weeks at least.
Re: The honey is flowing .
I extacted four and a half gallons this evening and still have at least twice that to pull when the bees get it capped . Have not had time to do anything other than work and mess with bees lately , Gus that is what it takes to pay the bills ( airconditioner runs a lot in the heat ) . Going to take a brake forth of July weekend at Lake Of The Ozarks , have family coming down from Indiana .
Re: The honey is flowing .
Sounds like you'll have a well deserved break Billy. Try to stay cool and be safe. KsBow
