Here's a Bowie I made for my brother. The blade is 01 tool steel, hardened and tempered. Hope you enjoy.

I've made a couple of knives out of old files. My wife still has one of them and loves it. I mostly just do handles now, as I don't have the time required to make a nice knife. I've been looking at Jantz for supplies.

Nice knife John. I'm sure your brother will pass it along as a family hierloom.

TradRag; I haven't given it to him yet. He lives in Austin, Tx. but he will be up here next weekend. I hope I don't decide to keep it by then.

Ken; I have thought about bying the blades but I have as much fun making the blades as I do putting on the handles. I am in the process of designing me a forge so I can forge my own blades someday. Jantz is a great place to deal with. Thats were I get my stuff.

Thanks for the compliments.

John
I see that Jantz offers Damascus blank steel in different patterns now. Now I've got the bug again!

Take care
