Cats are Biting!

Do you fish from the bank or do you have a rig?

Cats are Biting!

Since all the rain, I've been hitting the Arkansas pretty hard for the last few days. This morning, I got out there shortly before 7 and stayed till about 9. Using night crawlers. I caught four keepers. Weighed 5, 4, 2, and 1. Caught four bugle mouthed bass. Chucked those out for the coons. This makes 8 like this that I've caught since the 5 inches of rain we had on Monday. Got .4 again last night. Caught these on Shakespeare rods, Zebco 33's, 14 pound stren, homemade spoon sinkers, and good ol eagle claw hooks, with nightcrawlers wrapped around em. Kinda fun. Greyden says seeing em makes him HONGREEEEY!

Nice looking stringer of cats Ralph , guess I'm going to have to get the kayak out and go up by Perkins and set in a creek and paddle down to the river and try my luck .
I'll hang some limb lines and fish a while , if the mosquitos don't eat me alive I may stay all night .

Went back out this morning and was getting bothered by small carp and small channels. Caught a small carp and made cut bait out of him. No more feeding worms to babies. Caught another nice Blue Cat, bout 5 pounds, a nice channel bout the same size and a monster leatherback turtle or soft shell. Bout 10 or 12 pounds on the turtle. Didn't want to clean him today, so he lucked out. Next time my knife will be sharper and Miss Dianne will be frying up some turtle. :applaud:

Ralph,
He caught it somewhere here on boggy creek using a goldfish, he was fishing for catfish but he was happy with the crappie.
The crappie fishing hasn't been very good here this year, not a lot of fish & mostly 10" or smaller.
A couple of years ago that was about average. Don't know what the deal is but it still beats not fishing. ;)

Took my brother's little girl and two of her friends to my pond today to fish for a little while , they cuaght several small bluegill and just about landed a bass that would have went at least four pounds , what was fun to watch was when they got into one of my big cats , they landed a couple and broke one off but I couldn't get them to hold them up for a pic , maybe next time .

Damn Donnie, Didn't know it would cut you that deep. Perhaps we can figure out a therapy that will help heal the wound. :77:

Yeah Ralph, getting me mixed up with that youngster was a blow. I'm glad to hear it was confusion over the monikers and not our looks. I hope I'm a little more handsome than Donnie. :D By the way, your going to have to catch more than Greyden can eat to have any for the fish fry at Rendezvous.

I'm telling you, that boy can put away some fish. We're about to try a major deal. Greyden is probably going to spend the weekend with his Mama and big Brother and Sister. We don't know how it'll work, but we're going to try it. Not telling him that we're coming to Stillwater. That might put the whole deal off.
