The worst day fishing......

Do you fish from the bank or do you have a rig?

The worst day fishing......

Postby Greywolf » Sun Apr 14, 2013 10:55 pm

Might have been today. Wolfpup and I made a fishing date to go and it just be her and I for a day of fishing and just talking. Glad a lot of the talking was done on the way of the 30 mile drive. We got to the area and started to put out the sand spikes, we got one pole all baited and belled. then the rain started... it was hard enough to put us in the truck. so we sat for quite a while waiting on the rain to slow enough or stop to finish baiting the poles. Catching wasnt as important as having the time was.
Well, it did slow, so we jumped out only to see the the brown run off water had emerged from the edges out some 30 yds in some places, more further down the shore, so I was able to get about 40 yds out. and with the water being 80-100 feet deep I was sure there wasn't a total saturation all the way to the bottom, but wasn't for sure. so we got all 4 poles going, but the run off water kept swelling up and going farther out into the harbor.
Just as we were trying to decide what to do, the rain made our decision for us. it started and hasn't let up yet, visibility is only 1/2 mile most of the time and worse at other times to maybe a 100 yards.

So we rolled it up and just did a drive and talk and see some of the things on the other end of the island we haven't seen for quite some time. 3 hours later, many miles and a McFlurry later. we decided to go back to the house.
all in all it was a good day, good quality time with the wolfpup, besides she drove too.

Maybe in a couple of weeks we can all do it again and let the rest of the family come with us.

No the worst day fishing isn't as good as the best day.... Well maybe it is..never mind.

Sounds like a good time Mark. Even just driving around the island in the rain is a good time...and a better time with your daughter driving.
