Re: Banquet, Congratulations and Thanks

Well stated Mike. It's been a pleasure seeing your passion for OSS and OJam and watching your boys go for lil guys to fine young men. I know that you'll continue to serve and promote OSS and our activities to promote "Passing On Our Primitive Traditions"..

Re: Banquet, Congratulations and Thanks

Well Done OSS. I already thanked everyone and congratulated everyone on another thread. Bow Trade was a huge success. Was very happen to get Billy's bow. Shot it a bit when I got home. Thanks to C.R., arrows flew great out of Billy's bow. See everybody soon at OJam XII.. :applaud:

Re: 2016 OSS bow trade

Great time and Great fellowship at the OSS Annual Banquet. Great Bow Trade, many beautiful bows went to new homes. I received the one that my Buddy Billy made. Haven't shot it yet as we just got home, but I know it's gonna shoot great. C. R. did a superb job of helping us with our auction and raffle...

Re: OSS Banquet Auction Items

We just finished canning up a batch of Sandhill Plum Jelly and a batch of Concord Grape Jelly from our Garden. It'll be an auction or raffle item. I've already loaded a pair of sister osage billets in the trunk and have the Trade Bow all warm in a new bow sock. We're getting close to being ready. Al...

Re: 2015 Buck

Got ole George Jones' rack back from Nature Boy's Taxidermy. All cleaned up and ready to mount on something. He wound up in low 150's, if he'd had normal brow tines he could have broke 160. Oh Well, he tastes good. :applaud:

Re: What did you do today 2016?

Yesterday, I went out and did a little walking and checking on stuff at the farm. Removed an old ground blind that was all busted up. Put a snow pole in the new blind that I just sat up. Also tied the top of the blind over a limb, so now it'll be ice and snow proof. I also repositioned a ladder stan...

Billy always has a lot of irons in the fire. Now that he literally has his forge going, he's really busy. As Tim said, he's been helping his Dad out a lot and with foul weather every now and then, he's spent more hours on his job. :campfire:

One thing about my Buddy John....I've never had to help trail a deer for him. He does it himself. Now I have helped him run down tom turkeys but that's a whole nuther deal.

I put the brains in a pan with a little water and make a slurry out of them. Put them on while they're still hot or very warm anyway. Seems to work fine. :applaud:

Re: Three for one bow's

Leslie, it looks like you have a slight hinge in the lower limb about 5 inches from the bottom of your hand. It could be the angle the pic was shot from. I'm kinda going by the bow's bend and the vertical frame of the window behind it. Just be careful with it.

It's all about enjoying shooting the bow. If it's too heavy, the fun factor goes down proportionally as the weight rises. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. Merry Christmas to All. :campfire:
