Re: New Guy saying Hello

Welcome aboard Sean. We have a lot of knowledgeable individuals on this site. You won't find the rude, crude, back stabbing on this site. It's family around here. Sounds like you have a lot to add to our site. Good to have you as a member. :campfire:

Had some familiar visitors in the daytime over the last 10 or 12 days. Here's a few shots at the tank.

Expo Note

We have been over run with vegetables this summer. We'll be bringing tomatoes, okra, summer squash, hot peppers-jalepenos, giant chillies, hot yellow peppers, Mild Peppers- a few bells, sweet bannanas, and Fooled You's-which are exactly like a Jalapenos but with no heat at all. You can have some fun...

Re: Ralph Conrad

I put something on the BOD forum, but apparently no one has seen it. We need to send a flower to Ralph's Services and a card from the OSS. It would mean a lot to his family. As someone who's been there with loved ones, nothing means more that heartfelt concern from a close knit group that is your ex...

Re: Ralph Conrad

Tommy, You a right. Ralph was a wonderful supporter, a Great Knapper, and a Great Friend. If you didn't put Ralph at the top of your list of Good Guys, it's because you never met him. Prayers for his family. He's probably figuring out if he can get a head out of a street of gold. RIP my Friend. :(

Work Projects for Expo

What are you bringing to the Expo to work on?? I think I'll bring two bows to play with. One is a forward handle that I glued up for a guy and he's never contacted me, so I'm thinking I'll just cut some nocks and do some tillering. The other is a slightly wavy piece of bodark. Hopefully I can find a...

Re: Here We GO 2015.

Woke up 4:45, got dressed, left the house a tad after 5. It had sprinkled some, still lots of clouds and lightening in the west. Took up a watch from a blind. More sprinkles, not enough to do any good. Sat till after 9 and learned that Jason is right: Ain't no critters up north, other than a couple ...

Here We GO 2015.

Ok, I dug out some pants, a short sleeved camo Tee, a pair of hunting boots. I'm going hunting in the morning. May not shoot anything, but I'm going anyway. Gonna set another camera. Greyden doesn't have school in the morning so he and Nana can sleep in but KsBow's going to the woods. Taking Doobie ...

Prayer Request For Mary Ann Cooke

Dianne visited with John Cooke tonight and his wife MaryAnn is not doing well at all. Her kidneys are failing and her blood sugar is extremely high. She's hospitalized and has been put on an emergency kidney transplant list. For years, MaryAnn has been making the little bow socks for the rattan bows...

My initial thought Alex. Later in the week it was gone. Just a shard of velvet hanging there. Sure looked like a drop to me at first, I was kinda excited about that.. Then I figured it out. :campfire:

Re: What did you do today 2015

Today, I pumped my water tank, checked my feeders, cleared some limbs out of my trails, then came home and put together a new ladder stand. Gonna move a blind in the morning, take another down, and maybe put up the ladder stand.

Houston....We Have Hard Horns!!!

Pulled a chip and pumped the water tank this morning. Found 20 pics over the last 3 or 4 nights of this fellow. He has good mass, lots of stickers, a double right brow tine and much character. I will kill this guy if given a chance.

It Won't Be Hot Forever!!

Here's a little reminder that sooner or later we'll get the heat turned off and we can enjoy our time in the woods in a slightly different weather situation. This should help you cool it for a bit anyway. :applaud: :applaud:

Re: Leo Scores First

Well with nine hunters and seven chances at bear, it was a good hunt. Sorry for the guys that didn't put em away and sorry for the two that didn't see bears. That's the way it goes sometimes. But for your first archery kill and great bear.......well it don't get any better than that. Way to go Leo, ...

I really expected the "Boys" to be burning up the www with wild and wonderful success stories by now. I think they've deliberately withheld details from the hunt. If you weren't invited they figure you don't need to know! Boo Hoo :(

John, I'm thinking the dark piece next to the corewood is Morado. Another South American wood.
That's looking good. :applaud:
