Re: Preparing for an Elk Hunt - Physically

I walk near 14 miles a day just with my job. I cant add a pack but can add incline conveyors and stairs. I am near ready for the end of the month late muzzleloader elk hunt. I will have 3 days to hunt then 2 additional weeks of 3 days at a time. I can only hope that I am fortunate enough to see the ...

What type of apple wood are you needing? Are you looking for laminates or just bulk wood to work with?

Re: Making Bag Targets

I have used the grain and dog food bags both work a bit. I filled them to the bursting point with old plastic shopping bags and it stopped any arrows from the 60 lb longbow and also arrows from a 70 lb compound. I simply ask for as many of the recycled plastic bags as I can get and usually get enoug...

Re: First traditional harvest

In 1969 I got a fiberglass recurve about 20 lb draw for Chirstmas. The day after that I shot a jack rabbit. Dad made me eat it, but mom showed me how to cook it and make it taste good. I still love rabbit mole...

Hello from WA

I havent been here for a bit so I thought it was good to say hello to you all. I just bought a new to me reflex deflex longbow and may need some help with what to do with it other than the obvious (put holes in the sky). I need to clean it up a bit and see about some arrows. It is a custom made 62" ...

Re: Washington Roosevelt Elk Hunt

I would be seriously interested in this. I am a resident of WA up in Lynden and have purchased 9 elk tags and only made it to the woods last year. (Family and work) I would love to learn more on what needs to be done to actually take an elk with my bow. Please PM me about what you would like to do. ...

Re: Have you ever....

Had a bow made for my daughter and the guy let me have one for her. She made me shoot the wrong handed bow a few times for her. It came apart on the 6th shot. The top limb hit my head and bottom limb stuck in the lawn.

It has been illegal to hunt deer with a blackpowder pistol in every state I ever lived in so I never got the chance to try it.

Re: Wanna meet "Trav"...?

Hiya Greywolf, If Trav is still traveling around I would love to be able to take him on a a walk/stand Sept 2011... We met one time a while back and I fell in love with the fluid motion of shooting that bow... I will call you after the hunt is up here to let you know how the Nephew does on his first...

What type?

I am new to this site and still haven't gotten all settled in yet. I would like to know before I get started, are all types of black powder rifles OK here? (Traditions .58 Hawkens w/percussion caps for instance)

Yes it is the bow I made in a local bow making class, and it is made of Osage, I am still trying to teach myself to shoot it. Spokane? It is funny because I myself am from Utah and reside in Lynden Wa for the last 22 years. I have 3 friends that want to head to Utah for a mule deer hunt. I am search...
